About Dr Kate Sherratt
Clinical Psychologist & Dating Coach
Hi, I'm Dr Kate
I’m a Clinical Psychologist with 17 years’ experience supporting people to understand their patterns, feel more grounded, and make meaningful changes in their lives and relationships.
I work with people who are functioning well in many areas of life but feel overwhelmed, stuck in unhelpful cycles, or unsure how to move forward. My approach is structured, compassionate and practical — helping you make sense of what’s happening and take steady steps toward feeling calmer, clearer and more in control.
My Professional Background
I’m registered with the Health and Care Professions Council (HCPC) and the British Association for Behavioural and Cognitive Psychotherapies (BABCP) and have worked across NHS services, universities, digital healthcare, and private practice. My clinical work is grounded in:
-
Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT)
-
Formulation-based practice
-
Trauma-informed principles
-
Schema-informed perspectives
-
Compassion-focused and attachment-aware approaches
I’ve trained and supervised other psychologists and therapists, and previously led Postgraduate-level CBT training at the University of Reading.
How I work
My style is warm, collaborative and clear. I aim to create a space that feels supportive and steady, with enough structure to help you make sense of things and move forward. Whether we’re working on anxiety, burnout, low mood or dating patterns, I bring the same focus: clarity, grounded guidance and practical tools you can use in everyday life.
I don’t offer a one-size-fits-all approach. We work together to understand what’s happening, map the patterns keeping things going, and gently build new ways of coping and connecting.
